Illusion

Illusion is a stop-motion video about a person at a historical turning point, facing conscription and choosing flight over participation in war. Built from the artist’s analogue/digital photo archive, printed on transparent film and re-scanned as layered assemblages, the film crosses calm landscapes that conceal buried violence, asking what land remembers—and whether escape is chosen.
